I do not have a credit card. How can I make a purchase without a credit card?

In addition to debit and credit cards, there are a variety of ways you can make payment via an eSellerate Web Store or Embedded Web Store.  Available options will vary by situation, and may include one or more of the following:

  • PayPal
  • e-Check/ACH
  • Wire Transfer
  • Purchase Order

More information is provided below.

Paying by PayPal

Many eSellerate clients do accept PayPal payments as an alternative to paying via a credit or debit card.  PayPal is a service owned by eBay that lets you transfer funds from your bank account directly to an online account balance.  You can then use the PayPal account balance to make purchases from many different online merchants (or to make payments to private parties, etc.).

We recommend that you check the Web Store that sells the product or service you are asking about.  If PayPal payments are accepted via the Web Store, it might be worth your time to learn more about PayPal and/or set up an account at http://www.paypal.com.

Paying by e-Check/ACH

Customers in the United States may also have the option of paying by e-Check/ACH, which is an automated electronic withdrawal from your checking account.  If this option is available, you will see a separate radio button labeled e-Check/ACH below the credit card payment option.  Please note that it normally takes 5-7 business days for the ACH payment to be processed, and the order will not be completed - no serial number will be provided, if applicable - until the order has completed processing.

Paying by Wire Transfer

Some customers may also have the option to pay via a wire transfer.  When this option is selected, the transaction will not complete until the customer has wired the funds to Digital River (eSellerate's parent company) and Digital River has finished processing the incoming wire.  Following order placement, instructions are provided on-screen with complete details of how and where to wire the funds.

Please note:   It is very important when wiring the funds to follow the instructions provided on-screen after order submission EXACTLY so that the wire payment will be received and applied to the correct order.  If any detail in the instructions is not followed, the transaction may not complete processing at all because the incoming wire transfer - even if it is received - cannot be matched automatically to the correct order.

Also, there is a non-refundable $20 USD service charge for handling wire payments, which covers eSellerate's costs in processing the wire transfer.

Paying by Purchase Order

Customers who need to place large orders (e.g., on behalf of a business or other organization) may have the option to order using a purchase order, provided the subsequent payment can be made from a United States bank.  The purchase order option is only available if the order total is greater than $250.00 USD.  With this option, the customer must follow the on-screen instructions provided after submitting the order, to send the purchase order form to Digital River's credit department.  Digital River will perform a a credit evaluation and if the purchase order is approved, the order processing will be completed.  The customer will be sent an Order Confirmation e-mail message at that time, containing any serial number information as applicable.

Digital River will send an invoice to the customer following order completion, in the amount of the order total.  The invoice will be payable upon receipt.
