SUMMARY
If you receive an e-mail notification that your subscription billing was unsuccessful, you will need to update your payment information - even if you want to continue using the same payment account. eSellerate cannot trigger a new billing attempt to resume the subscription until the payment information has been updated. Please be advised, however, that you should address whatever condition caused the billing to be declined before you update your payment information to trigger another billing attempt.
If you need to update your payment information, e-mail address or billing address, you can do this directly via our After-Purchase Services site (or using the After-Purchase Services tab above). This article provides detailed information about the process of updating your subscription billing information.
MORE INFORMATION
When you log onto After-Purchase Services using the instructions below and update your card information, eSellerate will immediately contact your payment method's issuer (e.g., the bank that issued your credit card) and request authorization to charge the regular subscription billing amount. This authorization is temporary only, and will never be captured as a charge to your account. This temporary authorization is separate from any charge that will occur for your regular subscription billing.
If you are updating your payment information because you received a notice of an unsuccessful subscription billing, eSellerate will try again to bill the regular subscription amount in the early morning hours of the next day (central United States time).
If you have not had an unsuccessful billing and you are updating your payment information for a different reason, your regular subscription billing will occur on its normal date, as scheduled.
To Update Your Subscription Details
| 1. | Visit our After-Purchase Services (APS) site at http://store.esellerate.net/support. (Alternatively, you can click the After-Purchase Services tab above, which works in exactly the same way.) |
| 2. | Near the top right-hand side of the page, enter the e-mail address that you entered for the original purchase, and the order ID of your original purchase. Your order ID begins with "ST" and includes several numbers; this information is included in any notification e-mail messages you have received. Note: If you do not know your order ID, you can have the system automatically send you the entire purchase history for your e-mail address, using the E-mail field and the E-mail Order History button further down the same APS page. |
| 3. | Click Submit. |
| 4. | On the next page, click the link labeled Click here to update your subscription billing information. (Note: The screen shot image below is only an example. Different options may appear in the Subscription Management section depending on the terms and status of the subscription.) |
| 5. | You will be taken to the Update Subscription Information page, where you can enter the payment information (or update your e-mail address, billing address, etc.) and then click Save Changes. |
That is all there is to it. If you needed to update your information to initiate another billing attempt for your regular subscription billing, the system will try the billing again the next morning (central United States time). In any case, the new information you have provided will be used for future activity on the subscription.
Note: If you update your payment information and receive an error message such as "Unable to update credit card information" when you click Save Changes, this indicates that your payment account declined to authorize the subscription billing amount. In that case, you would need to contact the bank or organization that issues your payment account and ask for information on why the authorization was declined, before updating the payment information again. eSellerate cannot see the decline reason provided by the bank on this type of declined authorization.
